[Gmsh] versions higher then 1.53 do not work

Me and my colleagues have problems with running GMSH on Windows XP. 
If I try to run gmsh.exe, nothing happens (or the application start and immidiately ends). I guess this problem arised after installing Service pack 2 in Win XP. And it happens for version from 1.53 (with cygwin1.dll of larger size 1.1M instead of 0.9M in older version).
I did not find any other cygwin*.dll file in my system.

Is there anybody with this problem. How to solve it?
