On a 3D mesh, isovalues are represented as surfaces. You should use the
'-dl' command line option (or select 'Use display lists' in
Options->General) to get it work at a reasonable speed. There is no
'volumic' rendering in Gmsh at the moment.

If you work with GetDP and just want filled isovalues on the boundary of
a 3D region, try the 'Skin' option in the PostOperation.
